The bedrooms all vary in size due to the age and history of this building, however, most deluxe rooms have river views and are large and comfortable and of a 4 star standard. They have recently been refurbished and although a traditional hotel steeped in history, the bedrooms have a modern and up-to-date feel but still maintain an air of tradition. This property is renowned for its numerous restaurants however, the general restaurant is still authentic and traditional in design and serves a typical Dutch menu specialising in locally caught fish. Breakfast may be served in one of the many rooms which are traditional and still maintain some original furniture and fittings. The exterior of the hotel resembles a chalet style lodge. The lobby is large and resembles a museum with its numerous original paintings and objects d'art. There is ample seating in the warm and welcoming lobby whose main feature is an original fireplace with original Delft Blue tiles. This is a very unique hotel in the middle of one of Hollands major tourist attractions and offers excellent value for money. The hotel is also famous for being home to over 1200 original paintings by worldwide artists from the 19th century, most notably Dutch and American and so houses the most original paintings in a hotel in the world. From the view to its location to its history, this hotel is one of the most historic and comfortable hotels in Holland and comes highly recommended. jg/11/2008
